Officer Darlene Harris has been named the Atlanta Police Department’s new gay liaison, a position left vacant since August.  Harris, 32, a lesbian who lives with her partner and two children in DeKalb County, joined the department in 2003 and said she considers herself "one of Connie’s children," a reference to Sgt. Connie Locke, the department’s first gay liaison who retired in August.
